| Well, still no FT jobSo I'm back in retail, working p/t until something comes along. Unemployment's done.
At this point, I don't even think there's a tunnel, just a doorway painted on a rockface that SAYS tunnel above it.
'Cuz there sure as hell ain't no light, approaching or otherwise.

| More job junk............1. The Germans have NO clue what they're doing. NOW they don't know how many people they'll need. Or when they'll pick them.
2. Diversified Cable said no.
3. Have no idea re Laird Technologies.
4. Have no idea re contract position at Chrysler.
5. Waiting to be interviewed at Dantom Inc. in Novi.
6. Waiting to be interviewed by unknown company (through Snelling) in Plymouth.
I have 6 weeks of unemployment left. If no one says yes in that time, I'm screwed.

| Weldon James Good November 29, 1955-January 29, 1989
We met
when we were both in 8th grade. We were both gearheads, and his oldest
brother John had a badass '69 Chevelle SS396, marina blue. 4-speed
Muncie trans. Both of us lusted after that car...*lol*...
Weldon and I were like brothers. Wherever he was, I was, and vice-versa.
He was very quiet and shy. It took a lot to draw him out. He kept things to himself.
We
built model cars. Rode bikes all over. Hung out. Talked about life and
girls and whatever else teenage guys talk about in conservative rural
Ohio (like getting the hell outta there).
He had all the mechanical talent I wish I had. I'm a gearhead with no mechanical skills - it came naturally to him.
I found his first car, a '55 Chevy 210 2-door sedan, blue and white, for $225.
He did the majority of the work when I bought my '56 Chevy (taking the 6 out of it and swapping in a V-8).
He
was one of the groomsmen in my first wedding. After that, we never
completely lost touch but had different things going on in our lives.
We always knew we could count on each other.
He came over to my house in the early summer of 1988, and stayed for hours. We did a ton of catching up.
The
last time I saw him was for a few short minutes that August. My friend
Allison was visiting me from Maryland, and we were getting ready to go
to my brother's house. I asked him if he wanted to go, he said no.
A few months after that, my sister called and I saw the obituary in the local paper. I went to his mom & dad's house.
He'd
shot himself. No one in his family knew why, except it might have had
something to do with a woman. Like I mentioned earlier, he kept things
to himself.
Even 18 years later, I still have dreams that
involve meeting him somewhere, doing something together, or just
conversations. I miss him. | | |
